World Premiere - Yatri by Manas Ghale

I unveil to you, Manas Ghale aka Loorey from Nepsydaz's first ever solo music video YATRI. This video marks the debut of Laxcha Thebe Bantawa; founder of NepUNITY as a music video director. Here are few words that she shared with me regarding the video:
It was a group of young people getting together doing what we all love to do.
Bryan & Calvin are photographers. None of us had shot a music video before. We are not part of any industry. We had no sponsors - no budget!
We made this simply because of passion and that's why this video is such an amazing achievement for all of us.
Yatri has its own pragmatics because it is based on Manas' true life story; however the making of 'Yatri' also has its own story - and that is 'follow your dreams'. This is also the reason why we featured Battlenutz, Duke & Chronicz because they are all such inspiring passionate voices in our generation. Nepal To Help Japan
Japan has been recieving international aid and support after the recent earthquake-tsunami that has taken the lives of over 9800 and affected over 17,000. Whilst Western nations are sending hoardes of rescue teams and supplies, Nepal has stepped in to help Japan. The government will provide 5000 pieces of blankets for the victims in need.
Several affected Nepali's living in Japan have spoken out against the lack of facilitation by the Nepalese Embassy in Japan. What is happening in terms of the slow response from the embassy officials is one out of many questions to be raised. However, Foreign Secretary Madan Kumar Bhattarai has stated:
The government has prioritized rescuing the Nepali people in Gulf countries like Libya and Kuwait who are under threat due to political unrest there and it has been working accordingly.
Here is a personal account from a Nepali living in Japan regarding his experience of the earthquake and the Nepali Embassy. Post the earthquake in Japan, even Nepal has felt several tremors...I cannot imagine the magnitude of devastation that our country might face given an earthquake of such richter scale takes place. How prepared are you?
Where is Malvika?
If the thousands of Malvika Subba's friends on Facebook have been wondering where she has disappeared off to then here's the lowdown. Malvika is back to filming for Nabin Subba's Goodbye Kathmandu - Yes the same movie which I blogged about a good year ago. Heard this will be one of the better made movies out of the batch of ''better made movies''. =]
Aside from filming I hear that Miss Subba is busy researching and trying to set up her very own apparel line. Guess we will hear soon from the horse's mouth.

Turn It OFF - Earth Hour: 26th March
The annual WWF-organized event Earth Hour is only few days away taking place on the 26th March where they want you to turn if off - your lights and everything from 8.30 PM for one hour. This is to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change. Now for the people in Nepal - I think the country has enough Earth HOURS everyday but to those living abroad... why not spare one hour. Even though Nepal faces electricity crisis people still take part in Earth Hour and below is the photo from the 2010 Earth Hour where many had gathered at Baudha stupa.

Kailash Kher to Perform in Nepal!
NEWS DEVELOPING: JPR Events who brought Bryan Adams over to Nepal will be bringing over the Indian singing sensation Kailash Kher to Nepal for a Nepali New Years Eve Performance taking place at Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza where Nepali band Abhaya and the Steam Injunes will open the show; this has been confirmed by Samden Sherpa (event organiser). Those who attended the press meet on the 22nd March got to hear the live confirmation from Kailash Kher himself through a video call. The musical evening will be followed by a fashion show. I did hear that various Miss India's and Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez will also arrive in Nepal soon to launch a jewellery line however there havent been any confirmation regarding that news.
